How can I cite a page from the support site?

There is currently no formal citation format for support pages. The following recommendation is based on a general format for citing websites.

To cite a support page please include:

"DataCite Support Site", "Title of Section", "last modified date (approx)" and the "URL"

Example:

DataCite Support Site. Best Practices for Tombstone Pages, 2023, https://support.datacite.org/docs/tombstone-pages.

Last updated date

The DataCite support site is developed in readme.io which only shows the last updated date. This means only an approximate date can be displayed in any citation of a support page.
