What is the difference between a Member/Consortium Organization account and a Repository account in Fabrica?

Each type of account in DataCite Fabrica (doi.datacite.org) has different permissions and depending on what you want to do, you need to make sure you log in with the correct account. Your Member account, or if you are part of a consortium, your Consortium Organization account ID is 4 or more capital letters XXXX. When you log in with this account you have permission to create repository accounts and assign prefixes. The Repository account IDs are separated by a dot e.g XXXX.XXXX. When you log in with this account you have permission to create DOIs and update the metadata. Remember to update the contact information in your Fabrica accounts to receive DataCite communications.
